I am a guy who loves to cook. But I did not start to cook up until four years ago. Till then I had not set foot in the kitchen. Then I got married and my wife had no kitchen skills either. So, it was either take outs, dining out or eating chips for dinner. And that can dent your wallet after a while and is also unhealthy! So, I decided to try to cook, first by following published recipes line by line, and then by using my imagination. Of course it was not perfect at the beginning. But little by little I started to get good results. Once you start to cook, you love it. It is something really rewarding.
I started my blog called Second Helpings to share my experiences in the kitchen and also my favourite recipes. This is not a blog for gourmets, I mean not only for gourmets. In fact I do not believe in those kinds of tags. I believe in good food. I would like to inspire people who have never cooked before to start cooking. I would love to be of help, give advice and encourage you to cook. Believe me, if I can cook, you can too. It is not hard and it is healthy, because I will try to show you how to cook in a healthy, but delicious way. Of course, your comments will be welcomed and encouraged. Eating is fun. Everyone loves to eat. Well, almost everyone. I just want to show you that cooking is also fun.I normally cook for two people, so my recipes, if I do not say something else, will be for two people and maybe some extra second helpings.
